Four Independent Tracks for Own Ship

• Accepts NMEA information from GPS, DGPS, Decca and Loran C receivers
• Displays up to four navigation sensor derived tracks

FishMaster FS has the ability to interface to all major navigation sensors including Decca, Loran C, GPS and DGPS thus providing the best possible visual presentation of position. Up to four sensor derived tracks, each with its own user-selected symbol and track color, can be displayed.

Sensors may be allocated their own tracking resolution by distance or time to suit the operational requirement. Each track is numbered and may be individually switched on or off, or selectively hidden or shown. Depths can be transferred from a connected echosounder and entered on demand or recorded continuously with the steer-by track. Depths may be displayed or hidden for later recall.

The ship’s symbol representing the chosen primary or steer-by sensor also displays a speed and heading vector. Should the sensor go into alarm or the input fail, the vessel symbol and sensor identifier change color.

Simple Operation and Data Entry
• Data entry and operation by trackball
• Qwerty keyboard option

FishMaster FS is very simple to use. Operation is by means of on-screen menus in conjunction with a trackball controlled curser and two buttons. A third dedicated button allows the operator to scroll, center and zoom in and out regardless of the screen mode displayed.

In addition, FishMaster FS supports a standard qwerty keyboard.

Simultaneous Presentation of User Data and Vectorized Electronic Charts
• Simultaneous display of up to four user-generated chart layers
• Charts are fully vectorized and include a comprehensive almanac
• Multi-layers allow operator choice of displayed data
• User maps may be merged into one or divided by window keep/hide facility
• Radar track table, VRM, EBL displayed

Recording of successful trawl tows off North Scotland

FishMaster FS can display vectorized charts and/or user-generated graphics. Within each vectorized chart an almanac contains information on lights or buoys giving names, positions and specifications. Additional information on other chart objects or special warnings, routings, anchorage cables, etc. is available via the inform function.

User-generated maps may be corrected, edited, shifted, zoomed or merged as required. FishMaster FS provides a choice of seven user-selected colors for lines, vessel tracks, symbols, alphanumerics and color infill for operators wishing to generate their own maps. The system allows four maps and a chart to be displayed simultaneously.

The charts and maps are multi-layered and allow the user to decide how much information is displayed. Any information removed from the display can be reinstated on demand.

FishMaster FS provides audible and visual alarms in the event of user-selected limits being violated i.e., depth, waypoint approach and cross-track error. In addition, lines on the display can be allocated guard line status.

FishMaster FS can simultaneously accept and display tracked radar targets from a suitable radar system. Tracks from these targets may be stored and later displayed for analysis in conjunction with relevant user-generated data or vectorized charts. Successful tows can easily be displayed and followed.

Automatic Coordinate and Datum Conversion
• Automatic coordinate conversion
• Chart datum conversion

Positional data relating to map generation, waypoints, wrecks and navigational hazards may be expressed in terms of latitude and longitude, Decca or Loran C coordinates. The position of the cursor on the screen is also expressed in these coordinates, thus greatly simplifying data entry.

Vectorized charts are automatically converted to WGS 84 format, however an operator option allows charts to be displayed in the original da
tum.

Vectorized Electronic Charts
• Uses Transas Marine charts
• Update service available

FishMaster FS uses Transas Marine charts which are available from suppliers worldwide and users may subscribe to extensive update services. These fully vectorized charts, which cover virtually all of the world’s major fishing areas and shipping lanes, allow the operator to select the data to be displayed using the twelve layers available.

Comprehensive Route Planning
• On-screen input and correction of waypoints
• Accepts external waypoints and routes
• Calculates ETA and required speeds
• Displays rhumb line or great circle legs

The FishMaster FS chart video plotter provides the operator with powerful route planning capabilities enabling the user to plan and edit comprehensive voyage plans which can then be stored and recalled as required. Waypoints are entered and corrected using the trackball and on-screen cursor or via numeric on-screen keyboards.

FishMaster FS will also accept pre-planned waypoints and routes from external sources via the NMEA0183 interface. In addition, for the really long distance fishermen, FishMaster FS allows routes to be planned with great circle legs, shown as curved lines on the display and/or rhumb line.

Radar Interface
• Displays tracked targets from the radar

FishMaster FS accepts the output from the track table of a suitable radar fitted with an NMEA0183 track table output, such as the Decca BridgeMaster equipped with autotrack. This enables the operator to display and record (if required) radar targets and tracks against the background of the data displayed. This may be an electronic chart, a user-generated map or both. Successful tows can be followed, therefore providing the operator with a greater appreciation of what is happening around his own ship, including the activities of other fishermen. True or relative tracked target vectors may be displayed. These tracked target symbols display the color of navigational lights in aspect, while stationary targets (less than two knots) paint magenta.

Flexible Mounting Options
• Quick and easy to install
• Easily configured

FishMaster FS, in its standard configuration, consists of the LCD (screen), processor and remote trackball. If required, there is supplied a trackball extension cable which allows the user to control FishMaster FS and enter data from up to five meters away from the processor unit. In addition, FishMaster FS readily interfaces with external sensors via its eight configurable input ports.

Full Data Conversion from CVP3500 Disks
• Easy, secure transfer of valuable data
• No need to recreate existing user data

Users of any of the Decca CVP3500 color video plotters will find FishMaster FS particularly attractive because of its ability to accept data already generated and stored on CVP3500 disks. With a simple upgrade of software, users can connect the CVP3500 to the FishMaster FS so there is no need to recreate data.

Data Security
• Data protected from power supply failure
• Optional passcode protection of files

• User data and chart data encryption system

FishMaster FS is equipped with memory back-up to protect recorded data in the event of a power failure.

The ability to enter a passcode and the built-in encryption system ensures that confidential data remains secure from unauthorized viewing.

Echosounder
• Echogram display behind own ship
• Digital readout of current depth
• Depth recording facility

A window may be called up to allow depths to be displayed in either meters or fathoms as an echogram. Depths can be recorded manually or automa
tically along with ship tracks and displayed at selected intervals. The interval is determined automatically according to the level of zoom.

Additional Information
• Choice of display size
• 29 VDC Supply

FishMaster FS is available with 15 or 18 inch high definition liquid crystal display. The settings for daytime, twilight and night-time viewing and the variable brilliance control ensure that the screen brilliance is appropriate to the ambient lighting conditions.

There are many more features including:

    • Built in log book
      • Automatically records time, date, position, speed and average speed every hour, every time the tracks are turned on or off, every time the navigation sensor is changed and every time an event is entered. In addition, the user can manually enter the following data to be recorded: weather, relative humidity, dew point, water temperature and fuel.
    • True wind speed and direction calculations
    • Optional plug-in qwerty keyboard
    • Printer output for screen print, route print and log book print
