Autopilot & Steering Control Systems
The C. Plath Naviguide 4000 Manual Ship Steering System has multiple configurations to meet specific customer requirements. The ship steering system is fully type approved by Germanischer Lloyd.
The innovative Navipilot 4000 Ship Steering Control System is the first marine autopilot which uses ship steering control network technology to control a ship. This Sperry Marine autopilot is capable of tuning itself to adapt automatically to the ship’s load characteristics. The Navipilot 4000 marine autopilot was designed with the aim of increasing profit by reducing running costs.
The C. Plath SteerMaster Control System is the first network-based combination of a manual marine steering system and a self-tuning adaptive heading control system. This is a state-of-the-art addition to the marine autopilot product offerings of Sperry Marine. The flexible configuration and modular design suits many customer applications.
Communications
The compact 4000 GMDSS console, integrated SSB, DSC and telex set new standards for size and performance in the GMDSS market.
The Sperry Marine NAVICOM F77 marine communication terminal offers high speed and cost effective voice and data marine communication. The NAVICOM F77 marine communication unit's technology is based on either the MPDS (Mobile Packet Data Service) protocol with constant online access or a 64 kbps ISDN connection.
ECDIS, Integrated Navigation & Bridge Systems
Sperry Marine’s Integrated Navigation System (INS) has been developed and supplied to meet a broad range of ship’s bridge integration requirements. With over ten years in automated bridge integration and more than 325 integrated bridge systems installed worldwide, Sperry Marine is the proven leader in integrated bridge design and development for every application and requirement.
Gyrocompasses
The DTR 600 Digital Tape Repeater gives an accurate account of the vessel’s movements. Its matrix LED design ensures easy viewing from all directions and heights. Its adjustable illumination allows for viewing at full night to daylight bridge conditions. The digital tape repeater is lightweight and can be installed in a wide range of locations.
Sperry Marine is a recognized leading supplier of magnetic compass systems and accessories for the marine industry. The magnetic compass systems soundly meet the rugged extremes of marine environments throughout the world, and include aluminum alloy binnacles and the Jupiter flat glass magnetic compass.
Sperry Marine offers this new industry standard for military gyrocompasses - the MK27F Attitude and Heading Reference System. This rugged gyrocompass interfaces with electronic chart systems and tracking and steering systems.
The NAVIGAT 2100 Fiber Optic Gyrocompass is the first solid-state, fully electronic digital gyrocompass system for marine application in strapdown technology designed for integrated bridges and advanced high-speed vessels.
The fiber optic gyrocompass is a complete solid-state design with no rotating or other moving parts. It has a very high reliability and no maintenance requirements during its service life.
The NAVIGAT 2100 fiber optic gyrocompass and attitude heading reference system is comprised of a sensor unit, a control and display unit, and an interface and power supply unit.
The first digital marine gyrocompass of its type to be designed as a single unit and of unparalleled compactness in a polyurethane hard foam housing, the NAVIGAT X MK 1 digital gyrocompass has a low weight. This allows the gyrocompass to be installed on any bridge, from large yachts to the most capacious merchant marine vessel. Ship’s cables are connected directly to the terminals within the gyrocompass housing, facilitating installation.
Inertial Navigation
The MK 39 MOD 3A Ring Laser Gyro (RLG) Inertial Navigator provides both high accuracy geographic position information, with or without GPS, and precise attitude heading data. The MK 39 RLG offers excellent performance, traditional Sperry Marine reliability and very low through life cost.
Positioning
The Sperry Marine R4 Automatic Identification System (AIS) consists of a radio transceiver unit, a GPS receiver, a controller unit and a separate display unit. The R4 AIS will enhance safety at sea and provide better mand-based services for mariners. The R4 Class A Transponder system is type-approved and complies with international standards for AIS.
Radars
The AN/APN-242 Color Weather and Navigation Radar includes weather detection and avoidance, aircraft detection, terrain mapping and navigation, and beacon and IFF interrogation. This is the form, fit and function replacement for the APN-59 radar. The APN 242 can be installed using existing radar cabling, connections and mounts without aircraft modification.
The Sperry Marine Radar BridgeMaster E series of naval radars is designed to offer an unprecedented choice of configurations and options suitable for new builds and retrofits. The BME naval radars have evolved from Decca’s track record of over 50 years of commercial marine radar technology. The standard naval radar models include capabilities unequalled in other marine radars.
Sperry Marine's BridgeMaster E radars, with an unparalleled combination of features, provide enhanced situation awareness as well as effective, efficient navigation for the U.S. military.

Speed/Velocity Logs
The AN/WQN-2 DSVL Doppler Sonar Velocity log is a three axis speed log that provides fore-aft and port-starboard speed for surface ships, plus vertical speed for submarines. It measures speeds over ground and through the water more accurately than current standards.
